Contest!

I've been meaning to have another contest here for a while and I'm finally doing it, yay! I really appreciate everyone who has ordered from my etsy shop, like I said before the money is going toward upcoming school expenses (August will be here before I know it!) so thank you. Ok, back to the contest, so what could you win? How about this:

This is one of the newest bags I have up in my etsy shop, it's the Sticks N Skulls Knitting Bag. Isn't the fabric great? Anyway, I made an extra one and all you have to do to win it is leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite kind of cookie. Why? Because I'm hungry and wish I had some cookies (or that I wasn't too lazy to make some, either one would be good). And if you post something about this contest on your blog and link to my shop you get an extra entry. Easy peasy! Quick rules:

1. Contest begins today, March 22, 2009 and ends Saturday, March 28.

2. US residents only please because I'm too cheap and I hate the hassle of mailing international(terrible, aren't I?)

3. Please make sure I have a way of contacting you, either through e-mail (youATwhateverDOTcom) or through a Ravelry name, it's no fun having to track people down from their blogs. But if I know you or you've entered a contest here before you can just leave a comment.

4. Winners will be picked at random.

Thanks for playing!

-Kala

Contests... gotta love them! Ok, so I'm sending people your way this week.
My favorite cookie is craisen oatmeal. I discovered them while living in the Philippines. Crazy, I know, but my helper always made them for me when I went away on diving trips. They were so delicious after diving in the salty water... yum!

cute skully bag!!

My fav cookies were made by my kindergarten teacher! Lucky me , she was also on my mom's mail route so we would get a large plate every holiday season. They were a light sugar/shortbread type cookie filled with a date filling. I have yet to be able to locate a similar recipe though! But yum... (i asked, she won't give up the recipe, lol)

Molasses! I once drove all over the cities searching for fresh baked vegan molasses cookies. I think the Wedge had some, but they weren't vegan...after checking several other places, I found them at Hard Times, mostly by accident, because we were eating there any way. It was soooo gratifying! :)

Now what you need to know is that quite often the best cookies are the cheapest. Hie yourself to a Family Dollar or Dollar General (or even a Dollar Tree) store and procure a bag of their $1 Ginger Snaps. A perfect balance of sugar and spice, goes great with hot chocolate. I love them to death.

Oh, and my ravname is swordsandneedles.

I had a to-die-for vegan chocolate chip cookie in Seattle... and I keep on thinking about it now. I haven't experimented that much with vegan baking, but I would love to try :)

Homemade snickerdoodles with icing - what DH calls sugar pills. (I have to hide them or they disappear!)

There is a little coffee shop here in town that sells oatmeal raisin cookies the size of your head. They are super thin and the batter is almost caramelized when they bake it so it comes out sort of crunchy/chewy. I'm pretty sure I could live off of them.

Okay a) I love the bag. b) cookies! My favorite cookie is my very special Smooshy Cookies, which are chocolate chip cookies that are almost like cake with chocolate chips in it. I developed this recipe for my little brothers when they were kids because they always wanted cake, but I'm lazy and cookies were easier. If I had to pick another cookie it would definitely be Girl Scout Thin Mints. Frozen of course.

My favorite cookies are a recipe a friend and I sort of altered to our liking. It doesn't really resemble the orginal chocolate chip recipe anymore.

Double chocolate cranberry cookies. Add loads of cocoa in place of and in addition to your flour. Mix everything else in your recipe in. Add more cocoa until you like the consistency. Add Chocolate chips, chocolate chunks and dried cranberries. Plain fruits are actually better than craisins in this!
