One is the loneliest number

Socks are totally rude, they actually expect you to knit two of them! I mean, after you've already knit an entire sock, you're expected to do the exact thing all over again, gosh! Well, I don't always fall victim to Second Sock Syndrome, but when I was going through my knits looking for a sample for a design I need to update, I came across way more single socks than I thought I had:

Ummm, and there are two more that a yarn company will have until TNNA so it looks like I have 8 lonely sad little single socks. Is that a lot? I know there must be people with way more, right? Right?

That's so funny - maybe you can go the fraternal twin sock route...

I only have one single sock (if you even count it cause it's still on the needles and has been for years now...)

I do have a single baby bootie as well...

Well, I don't have any single socks because I've yet to knit any socks a'tall. :)

One reason I haven't knit any socks is cuz I know how rude they can be. Ravelry is full of stories, as you well know yourself. People talking about such abominations as "kitchener stitches" and "heel gussets" and "picking up and knitting" and "turning the heel".

Who needs it? Any given thing that contains such horrifying feats in order to complete it is bound to beat a girl like she owes it money if she can only manage to knit one sock and leave it mateless.

I just hope your single socks don't do something dumb like break your fingers. Rudeness is one thing, but I've heard tell socks can be violent at times.

Oh my! Are you planning on knitting the second socks, or use these as christmas stockings or similar :D

you Could just wear your single socks as mismatched pairs - showing off two examples of your hot knitting skillz at a time!

Right! I´m sure there are people with more single socks out there. But most won´t tell!
I will not either.... :o), but my illness is called single sock syndrome, too.
