Finished: Hedera Socks!

It only took three years...but my Hederas are finally done! I can't believe these have been ufos for so long, when I first started them in 2007 I hadn't been knitting for very long so the lace kind of made my brain explode. Over the past three years I would pick up the second sock once a year or maybe every six months and knit a round or two - gee, I wonder why they took so long to finish! A few days ago, I pulled them out of my knitting bag and decided they had to be done NOW. I got a good chunk done during knit night and finished them up last night. I'm so relieved to have one less unfinished project to mock me!

The pattern is Hedera by Cookie A. and it's from the Spring 2006 issue of Knitty. The yarn is two skeins of Crystal Palace's Maizy in the Hot Feet colorway. I really love the color, but the red bits in the yarn dyed my fingers when I worked on these, kind of annoying! I'll definitely won't be washing these with white clothes :)

So do you guys have any projects that just never seem to get finished?

-Kala

p.s. thanks for all the sweet comments on my last post, guys!

I bet there won't be many people who don't have an unfinished project or two... or more lurking around. I made a list the other day and was rather relieved to find I only had four. I've made a resolution to finish at least two of them before heading onto new knitting. Wish me luck!

CUTE! You are much braver than I am! I refuse to attempt socks individually... I know that if I don't do them two-at-a-time, they will never get finished! As far as incomplete, mocking projects.. I've a pile. Ugh.

You did a great job on the socks. Bet you feel great having them finished!! I only work on two or three projects at a time, otherwise I would have tons of UFOs, again. lol

Catching up as usual... What a cute wee girl you were! (And a lovely lady now! :o) )
I am VERY impressed by those socks. You were so ambitious starting something like that when you hadn't been knitting long! The lacy pattern is so pretty!
The things that are taking me ages are two cross-stitch pictures and a ripple pattern crocheted throw which is over the back of my couch to encourage me to make it bigger!

Those are adorable! I love variegated yarns. As for projects that never get done - I'm bad about mending clothing. I have a pile of things that need to be altered or fixed that I'm going to try to get to this summer, but we'll see :)

Oh they look great! I've had several projects in my knitting life that languished for years until I decided to pick them up and just finish already.

Ugh yes! My Lizard Ridge is so beautiful and so fun and so never. going. to. be. finished. At this rate, at least. I'm about 60% finished and have been working on it (very sporadically) for two years I think. Your Hedera socks are beautiful though. Definitely worth finishing!

such cheerful pretty socks!

I have several projects I intend to finish:

Polar Chullo
Galileo mitts
Lau socks

I have others I know I never will that, when I need to procrastinate about other things, I will frog.

(hmmm....good idea! I can frog some things this morning instead of working on my new vest design like I'm SUPPOSED to be doing!)

Very nice; I like them a lot!

I have several unfinished knits languishing in variou bags around my office. One was a coat for my daughter, three sizes ago. I wonder if I should just rip it and reclaim that pretty orange yarn...
