It's kinda hot

No seriously, this summer is kicking my butt - it's been so hot and humid this year, yuck!  When I'm at home I pretty much hide in the bedroom with the AC and laptop as much as I can.  The heat seems to be killing my knitting mojo too, I just can't seem to get excited about anything....ok, enough whining for now!  Look at the bright and fun thank you cards I made for my Vegancraftastic shop on Etsy:

So how do you guys stay motivated to knit when it's over 90 out?

Sweet cards! :)
I hide in the air conditioning, for the most part. Humidity makes me a very unhappy gal.

Crank up the AC and put on a favorite movie (one that you know so well, you don't have to keep your eyes constantly on the screen, but one that makes you happy to have it on, like a familiar old friend...preferably one you can sing to!). :D

Adorable cards!

Dishcloths. There's always dishcloths when it's over 90F outside!

Yes AC is the secret to life, if you ask me. Otherwise, lots of very cold beverages, chilled soups, and frequent cold showers help too.

Unfortunately, I don't have any secrets. I was recently heard whining on my blog about my own lack of knitting mojo. I've been concentrating more on my photography this summer, and look forward to cool fall temperatures!

I have asthma & can't stand the humidity, so my husband & I set up the a/c as early in May as we can start to feel it getting humid out, then we don't take it down until the last day our landlords will allow them to be in our windows. Which means it's about 65 in our place for half the year. That actually helps, 'cause sometimes it does feel a bit chilly, but running the a/c constantly is the only way we can cool our whole apartment enough, so pulling out a big wool sweater or finally grafting the toe on a 2nd sock to keep my feet warm starts to seem like a good idea. But this year I'm trying really hard to finish all the woolly stuff I started last winter when I was cold. Trying to remind myself if I don't make sweaters & scarves now I won't have them done in November when I want them. Then I found myself looking at cotton & linen tops on Ravelry the other day & I had to tell myself, "Just be patient. You can make those in December."

Also: Seconding what jamberry_song said about your favorite movie. Or get a Kindle if you can read & knit at the same time - no turning pages, & the book always lies flat!

kinda hot? really kala? i wonder what you think is REALLY hot... cause yesterday i thought it was REALLY hot.... the kind-of hot where you put your sunglasses on inside and then they fog up when you walk outside. it reminds me of philippines hot... and that's HOT!
(p.s. i knit socks, socks, and more socks. i gave up working on arnie's wool sweater in early june- it's just not worth it.)
(p.s.s. see you later today!)

The summer just gone I knit a sweater in 16 days for the Ravelympics--because apparently when someone dares me to something, common sense and comfort goes completely out the window...

I have the AC on, as well as several fans. Curtains get closed too. And the knitting mojo was gone for a few weeks, however, it's back now with toe-up socks. They are a little warm, but not too bad to work on now.

I can't believe it is that hot in Minneapolis right now! I'm home for the summer in NE, and it's been in the nineties, but it feels like 115.

I have the AC on but I have to say that I still hang out in our basement which is as cold as a meat locker for some reason. But on a day when the temp is in the 90's with high humidity that is the only way that I am going to be able to knit.

Tee hee, how funny - yesterday I posted a picture of my pup Mojo from February to try to think cool thoughts in the sweltering heat! Maybe his cute face'll help your knitting mojo, too? ;D

I don't knit, but I stitch tiny beads. I stay motivated by staying inside, drinking ICED water and putting a movie on as I bead.
