Casting on for 2011
I started this shawl last night, it's a Boneyard by Stephen West and I love it so far! I'm doing the yarn over variation because I like how it looks and I haaate M1 increases. The yarn is something I got for Christmas from my mamma, it's Blue Moon Fiber Arts' Sock Candy in the Schaherazade colorway. I tried my best to get the colors right in the pictures, but I think it's even prettier in person :)
So what's the first project you started in the new year?

Nice! I'm still nursing tendonitis so I haven't knitted anything in months. I shall live vicariously thru you ;-)
I spent the weekend stripping wallpaper to kick of a master suite remodel. So far all I've done is make things look worse.
That is pretty! Love the colors!
Very pretty!
Oh good god that yarn is yummy and it looks like you are flying on it!
Your shawl looks fantastic! I'm still knitting a jumper which I started last year. Just sleeves to do and ready!
Nice colors!
I've started a baby blanket for an old friend... and keep changing my mind about it. Luckily I've got 7 months :)
I love the yarn! I'm thinking about crocheting a shawl for my first project [started entirely in] 2011 too. I'm cold all the time, and I do love to crochet giant lace, so it seems perfect. :)
How pretty! I spent the weekend in the hospital with the best project of all, my new baby! He arrived a bit earlier than expected! I have a feeling that I won't have a lot of time in the near future for creative projects.
That. is. gorgeous.
Technically, I haven't started anything yet this year. I started owls on New Year's Eve and now I'm clearing out some old half-finished projects.
I haven't started knitting anything yet this year. I've done a small bit of sewing and have made a couple of scarves for myself and I'm crocheting a potholder.
Haha, I made a scarf for my cat. She didn't like wearing it.
Hi Kala,
Hope you have a great start in 2011~
Just to let you know that I would like to give you the "Stylish Blogger Award" for your awesomely stylish blog! :)
How this award works is that it's passed on from blogger to blogger, so I received the award from someone and I pass on the award to others. Part of this award is to write 7 things about yourself (on your blog post) and pass this award to 15 other recently discovered blogs you think deserves this award too.
You can see my post and the link for the award here! http://chanyeevon.blogspot.com/2011/01/my-first-week-in-2011.html
Thank you and have a great day!

Looking good! I've whipped up a hat: not a big success, but a starting point I guess :)
So pretty! I'm trying to get a pair of basic socks cast on...haven't found an hour to sit down and do that. Finished up a vest for my daughter, though!
Oh crap.... ok you win this battle but the knitting war is not over. Get a job and go to work like the rest of us and then I'd kick your bootie on the knitting competition! P.S. I think you should rip this one out as well... (j/k of course- it looks great!)
Gorgeous! The colors are amazing! Shockingly, I haven't cast on anything new. Because I'm lazy. And I can't decide on a pattern.
Mine will to learn to nit! It is such a beautiful craft and it sure looks easier then learning a new language!
Lovely blog and fabulous pictures!
hugs

That's going to be great! Nice yarn choice, too.
And Happy New Year!
Flip this is gorgeous! I love Sock Candy, it's super squishy and the colours are divine. Nice choice with the Boneyard too; his patterns are really clever. Happy 2011!
